Performance and Risk Director, SME Business Banking
. This role will be based in London.The Performance and Risk Director will report directly to the Regional Director, fostering a strong risk-aware culture across the Relationship Manager population. They will manage the regional profile with key internal stakeholders to facilitate the execution of effective risk management strategies, anticipate emerging risks, and implement proactive measures.The role holder will analyze local financial performance and market trends to inform growth strategies, driving a customer-obsessed mindset and embedding a high-performance culture throughout the region.Key responsibilities include:Managing regional profile (WCRM, various risk stakeholders such as Fraud, NFR, FR) to facilitate execution of customer deals, referrals, and risk issue management.Fostering a strong risk-aware culture across the BBRM regional team.Supporting LDs / RMs in conducting tailored customer risk assessments for accurate credit evaluations and mitigation strategies.Coordinating regional investigations and root cause analysis for events, incidents, or fraud; leading regional response efforts during risk events or crises.Analyzing local market trends and financial data to support informed decision-making.Taking a proactive approach to performance improvement and growth.Preparing and presenting local meeting packs, including MI tracking for campaigns.Minimum requirements for success:Proven coaching and performance management skills.Deep knowledge and experience of Corporate Lending.Extensive understanding of the UK market, including the impact of geopolitics on commercial outcomes, and connectivity with stakeholders such as customers, regulators, and employees.Experience in driving team and individual performance to meet customer and financial targets.Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills, with the ability to inspire, influence, and negotiate with clients and colleagues.Ability to perform under pressure, make prompt decisions in ambiguous situations, and take responsibility for outcomes.Ability to understand customer businesses and priorities, engaging effectively at all levels.At HSBC, we value diversity and inclusion.
