About Our Customer
4way Recruitment has partnered directly with an established fire safety specialist, operating for over four decades, to secure a permanent Fire Alarm and Gas Suppression Design Engineer for their team. Our client designs fire alarm and gas suppression systems for commercial, industrial and special risk environments, and holds a sizeable, experienced design team.

• Competitive salary, dependent on experience

Key Responsibilities – Fire Alarm and Gas Suppression Design Engineer

• Designing fire alarm and gas suppression systems for commercial, industrial and special risk environments in line with relevant codes of practice
• Reading and reviewing consultant specifications, project drawings and proposals
• Producing 3D models and coordinating with clients and other trades through the design phase
• Liaising with suppliers to stay current on market developments and products
• Attending client meetings, both online and in person, with occasional overseas travel where required
• Working closely with project and sales teams, including internal handover meetings once a project is awarded

Skills and experience – Fire Alarm and Gas Suppression Design Engineer:

• Understanding of fire alarm and gas suppression standards, including BS 5839, BS 6266, BS 7273 and BS EN 15004
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit and Navisworks for 2D and 3D design work
• Previous experience within the fire alarm industry
• Understanding of the commercial implications of design decisions
• Industry qualifications advantageous
• Strong communication skills and a hands-on, can-do approach
