SEMH Teaching Assistant

Location: Gloucestershire Start Date: ASAP Contract Type: Full-time, Monday to Friday Pay: £85 - £95 per day (including holiday pay) Five Education are working with a primary school who are looking for a dedicated SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) Teaching Assistant to support pupils with additional needs. This is a full-time, long-term role ideal for someone passionate about making a difference in young people''s lives. The Role:You will be supporting students on a 1:1 or small group basis, both in and out of the classroom. Your role will be to help them engage with learning and develop positive strategies to manage their behaviour and emotions. You''ll work closely with the class teacher, SENDCo and pastoral team to help students feel safe, supported and included in school life. Responsibilities: Provide emotional and behavioural support to pupils with SEMH needsSupport the implementation of behaviour plans and interventionsBuild strong, trusting relationships with pupilsEncourage engagement in learning and social activitiesHelp create a calm, structured and supportive learning environment Essential Criteria: Experience supporting children with SEMH or similar needsConfident managing challenging behaviour calmly and positivelyAbility to form strong, consistent and empathetic relationships with pupilsA patient, resilient and nurturing personalityWillingness to work as part of a supportive team Desirable: Team Teach or similar de-escalation trainingExperience in a ..... full job details .....
