Job Summary

Reporting to the Head of Project Planning providing a consultancy service to Project Managers and the Engineering functions regarding the preparation, monitoring and updating of project plans.Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

Work closely with Project Managers and Engineers in the construction of resourced project plans using Primavera in accordance with company standards and the project structure as identified by the Project ManagerCoordinate and chair resource planning meetingCoordinate liaison with resource managers to ensure timely allocation and utilization of staff resourcesCoordinate the production of detailed budgets consistent with resourced project plansCoordinate, report on and analyse the status of project progressAssist and advise in the reporting of progress to customers, senior management and project team membersAdvise on techniques for analyzing progress, identifying problem areas, establishing current position and forecasting trendsReport significant schedule slippagesCoordination of Cubic’s resource planning processCoordination of earned value and critical path reporting processAssist in the analysis of project costing reportsAssist/advise in reporting of progress to customers, senior management and project team membersAssist the Bids and Proposals team as required in the preparation of proposals, including project/contract mobilization stage and engineering development stageEnsure plans are accurate, realistic and consistent with estimates of costs to completeBuild credible relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, colleagues and project team membersSupport the PMO and Head of Project Planning with monthly reporting requirementsWork in conjunction with Programme and Engineering Managers to establish robust schedulesAttend and contribute to project review meetingsUpdate Cubic’s planning standards/procedures and educate/train project managers in their useTravel to customer and other Cubic sites for meeting attendance as and when requiredComply with Cubic’s values and adherence to all company policy and procedures. In particular comply with the code of conduct, quality, security and occupational health, safety and environmental policies and procedures.In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, the job holder is required to perform other duties assigned by their manager from time-to-time, as may be reasonably required of them.Minimum Job Requirements

experience of working in a busy Planning roleexperience of working with planning software e.g. Primavera P6 and MS ProjectsExperienced in all aspects of Project Management including its effects on the implementation and delivery of project objectivesCompetent in creating and maintaining robust project plans throughout the entire project lifecycleProviding planning support to complex engineering projectsExperience of working across large and complex project teams and with multiple parties (internal and external)Experience of establishing and reporting earned value management processesExperience of working within an engineering or IT development environmentCompetent user of MS Office suite (Word and Excel, Primavera P6 and MS Projects)Education and qualifications

Minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experience.Personal Qualities
