A client within the Public Sector based in Greater Manchesteris currently recruiting for a Health and Safety Manager to join their teamas soon as possible. The client is offering a full time, temporary positionwith the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within a complex, multi-site public facing environment.

The RoleThe key purpose of the role is to lead the corporate Health and Safety function, ensuring compliance with legislation and the promotion of a strong safety culture across the Council.

Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:• Leading the development and implementation of corporate Health and Safety policies and procedures.• Managing the Health and Safety service including Advisors and Occupational Health contracts.• Overseeing accident/incident investigations including RIDDOR reporting.• Supporting senior leaders and managers to understand and discharge their HandS responsibilities.• Delivering training, audits and reports, and representing the Council at internal and external forums.

The CandidateTo be considered for this role you will require NEBOSH Level 7 (or equivalent substantial HandS experience) together with significant experience in Health and Safety management within local government or a similar multi-site public service environment.

The below skills would be beneficial for the role:• Strong leadership and influencing skills with experience managing professional teams.• Excellent communication skills with the ability to deliver training and present to varied audiences.• Experience of liaising with regulators and external stakeholders in a senior capacity.

The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £350 per day Umbrella LTD Inside IR35 (approx. £280 per day PAYE).
