As a Senior Software Engineer, you’ll be a key driver of technical solutions that directly impact these outcomes. Your expertise will solve complex challenges, such as modernising legacy systems with zero downtime, scaling platforms to handle enterprise-grade workflows, and building new, innovative features bringing value to our customers.

Key Responsibilities

Software Development and Architecture

Design, develop, and maintain robust, secure, and scalable software solutions using Python/Django (legacy) and TypeScript (future)Proactively optimise and modernise systems through tech debt reduction, code refactoring, performance tuning, and quality enhancementsCollaborate with senior engineers to design reliable architectures and participate in architectural decision-makingEnsure systems align with the MineHub technical strategy and meet performance, security, and reliability requirements

Code Quality and Team Development

Write clean, efficient, and well-documented codeConduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to ensure adherence to code quality standardsLead and mentor junior engineers through code reviews, pair programming, and career growth guidanceContribute to technical interviews to help build a high-performing engineering team

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Partner with Product, Customer Success, and Sales teams to translate customer needs into technical solutionsCommunicate project status, technical constraints, and opportunities to non-technical stakeholders

Continuous Improvement

Foster a culture of continuous improvement with active participation in engineering efforts that help improve team efficiency and productivityStay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends, sharing knowledge with the teamContribute to the MineHub engineering knowledge base and technical documentation

Tech Stack and Transition

Current: Python, Django, PostgreSQL (AWS Aurora), Kubernetes, Gitlab CI/CDFuture: Gradual adoption of TypeScript

Ideal Candidate

5+ years of Python/Django expertise with a track record of delivering scalable backend systemsLocation: Primarily remote roleLegal eligibility to work in one of the following countries: United Kingdom, Canada, or Portugal.Based in or near London (United Kingdom), Toronto or Vancouver (Canada), or Porto (Portugal) to facilitate occasional in-person team meet-upsIf based outside of North America, this position requires the ability to overlap with North America time zones dailyTypeScript exposure: Experience is a plus, but curiosity and a commitment to learning are essentialProblem-solving mindset: Demonstrate a proactive, analytical approach to identifying and resolving complex technical challenges with scalable solutionsCollaborative approach: Thrive in cross-functional teams, fostering open communication and shared ownership to drive project success
