We are recruiting for an EDU Systems Engineer to be based at our customer\''s site in Gaydon.Our Embedded Systems Solutions department (ESS) encompasses activities outlined under the Automotive SPICE (ASPICE) process framework, including systems engineering, software engineering, coding, and all levels of functional testing. ESS also integrates supporting processes such as project management, risk assessment, functional safety, and cybersecurity to ensure ASPICE compliance and to deliver reliable, secure, high-quality embedded systems and solutions.The Role
The EDU Systems Engineer
will lead requirements activities for the EDU. The Powertrain Electrification team develops Hybrid and Electric propulsion systems, including high voltage vehicle system components such as Battery Pack, eMotors, inverters, transmissions, DCDC converters and on-board chargers.Key Responsibilities
Decompose EDU requirements to subcomponents (inverter, eMotor, gearbox, thermal system) and system requirements.Work closely with inverter, eMotor and gearbox teams to integrate these into the EDU.Challenge ePT requirements and ensure robust EDU definition in collaboration with the ePT system team.Lead FMEAs and contribute to manufacturing PFMEAs.Support Functional Safety, Cybersecurity and EMC activities to ensure compliance.Acquire and evaluate competitor benchmark information to influence concept creation in early project phases.Develop and record best practices and lead development of EDU system design manuals to handle Powertrain Electrification requirements now and in the future.Management Breadth
This position requires the management of one''s own time. The role will not require the management of others\'' time.Constraints
The EDU Systems Engineer must stay aware of all relevant certification, legislation and market regulations for EDU Systems and ensure compliance with company and Global Engineering standards.Essential experience
The essential areas of previous experience required to undertake this role include:Delivery of EDU systems requirements for hybrid and/or electric vehicles to ISO 26262.Understanding of hybrid and electric powertrain system functionalities and attributes at vehicle, system and component levels.Technical knowledge of EDU mechanical/electrical/electronics/thermal/software systems.Hands-on experience of working with automotive High Voltage EDU systems.Knowledge of all relevant vehicle legislation and certification requirements for automotive EDU systems.Preferred experience
Experience with Polarion.Experience with APIS IQ-RM.Essential Education / Qualifications
Engineering Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic and/or related field.What we offer
