Edinburgh - UK; London - UK; Manchester - UKReal Chemistry is looking for a Senior Medical Writer to join our growing team. You will work across several therapy areas to create a range of material, ensuring the language and content are appropriate for the target audience, scientifically accurate, and aligned to the relevant brand.What you’ll do
Lead discussions on therapy area, drivers influencing treatment decision-making and patient pathways with clients and external expertsDeliver content for complex projects with minimal supervision, delegating to junior writers as needed to ensure timely, high-quality outputStructure and write novel projects that may not have been executed previously; develop a compelling narrative from complex informationEnsure overall quality of deliverables with minimal oversight; apply critical thinking to translate the project brief into timely, efficient resultsBalance telling a coherent story within regulatory requirementsReview junior writers’ work for adherence to brief and quality; provide constructive feedback for professional developmentChallenge client/account teams on the most effective approach to meet client/brand needsArticulate a point of view on client strategy and ensure messaging aligns with strategic intentLead scientific discussions with clients and external experts to capture briefs and progress scientific contentPresent work to clients and articulate the scientific storyProvide input to enhance service offering and support organic growth of designated accountsExplain scientific content to non-scientific colleagues clearly and conciselyAdapt to changing client timelines while protecting QC steps and qualityIdentify new business opportunities with new and existing clients; support development of scientific strategy for other therapeutic areasTrain/mentor and manage junior writers and provide scientific and editorial feedbackDrive project completion, meet internal deadlines, and manage potential issues; communicate progress to accounts teamsLead meetings and strategic discussions with clients, authors, and advisorsAdopt a proactive, solution-focused approach to defining client briefs, expectations, and feedbackThis position is a perfect fit for you if:Our Company values–Best Together, Impact-Obsessed, Excellence Expected, Evolve Always, Accountability with an “I”You are adaptable, resilient, and comfortable adjusting scope and responsibilities as we growYou are proactive, driven, and resourceful with strong prioritization skillsYou are highly organized, able to work independently and under tight deadlinesWhat you should have
Experience in a Medical Writing role within an agency environmentMaster’s degree or higher in life sciences, medicine, pharmacy or related discipline; PhD is advantageous but not essentialAbility to work under pressure as business needs ariseExcellent written English with strong attention to detailGood interpersonal and awareness skillsExcellent IT skills, particularly Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPointUnderstanding and experience of Veeva (not a daily task)Benefits and culture
