Wembley Park Montessori are recruiting for an experienced Baby Unit Manager to join their busy, yet warm and friendly nursery of 36 places. This role is full time, working 40 hours per week on a variety of shifts between 8am-6pm, offering at least one half day per week. Salary: £24,960 - £30,000 per annum dependent on experience.Responsibilities

The Room Manager has a duty of care for all children placed in their care and overall management within the room.The Room Manager is responsible for the overall management within the room in order to ensure the legal and curriculum requirements are met in line with Inspire Montessori Schools policies and procedures.They are responsible for ensuring all staff prepare and supervise suitable activities to create and develop a stimulating environment to provide a high level of quality childcare whilst maintaining a professional and positive outcome for both children and staff.They are also responsible for communicating with the management regarding the activities and progress in the room and coordinating the relevant short and medium-term planning in line with the business needs to meet the curriculum requirements.Good communication skills are imperative, including listening, questioning, understanding, and responding to what is communicated by children, young people, and those caring for them.To work as part of a multi-agency team and have a clear understanding of your role and the role of other professionals.You will share information with other professionals in a timely manner and work together for the safety and well-being of the child.Room Manager/Third in Charge may be required to step up to a Deputy Head role in the absence due to holiday, training, or sickness.Develop knowledge of occupancy and need within the rooms and contribute to marketing for the nursery as agreed by management and Directors.Develop positive relationships with all partners and contribute to actions from internal and external audits.Support the management team with the coordination and implementation of relevant short and medium-term planning in line with business needs to meet curriculum requirements.A good knowledge of child development to ensure all children’s individual needs are fully met.Communicate with management regarding activities and progress in the room and ensure timely tracking of children.Create a positive and engaging environment following Early Years and Montessori principles.Maintain excellent and sound hygiene practices.Qualifications and Requirements

A minimum of Level 3 in Childcare or Montessori Diploma is essential.Previous experience of leading a Room in a nursery setting with children under the age of 5 is essential.Experience in a Montessori setting is desired but not essential.Positive role model, with an extensive knowledge of the current EYFS.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Passionate, motivated, team player with the ability to adapt to a fun and inspiring way of working.Good ICT skills.Current and clean Disclosure Barring Services (DBS) certificate is essential.Applicants for posts within the setting are clearly informed that the positions are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.Job Information
