Senior/Staff Process Development Engineer

Senior/Staff Process Development Engineer
We’re looking for a passionate
Process Development Engineer
to turn manual workflows into robust, scalable manufacturing processes. This onsite role sits at the intersection of hands-on experimentation and data-driven decision-making, working from early prototypes through to production-ready systems. You’ll collaborate across internal teams such as
Sensor Development, Automated Equipment, Mechanical Engineering, and Data Engineering , as well as external vendors and suppliers to transform uncharacterised manual or semi-automated processes into well-defined, optimised, and monitored manufacturing workflows. You will act as the subject matter expert for 2–4 manufacturing processes, defining process windows and recipes, characterising limits, and optimising for quality, yield, and throughput—enabling seamless integration with evolving product designs. This is a role for engineers who thrive in ambiguity, define acceptance criteria (or adapt existing ones), push processes from nominal functionality to tightly controlled, validated performance, communicate clearly, and take full ownership of processes and cross-functional alignment — building processes and performance metrics that work not just in theory, but at scale. What You’ll Do
Develop scalable, repeatable processes from early manual or semi-automated stagesDefine process parameters, windows, and manufacturing recipesCharacterise process limits and optimise for yield, throughput, and stabilityProcess Control and Metrics
Establish and monitor metrics for quality, throughput, and yieldImplement systems to track and visualise process healthUse data to drive decision-making, troubleshooting, and continuous improvementCross-Functional Collaboration and Ownership
Act as the project manager for your processes, aligning priorities and timelinesCommunicate risks, wins, and progress clearly to stakeholdersLiaise with suppliers and internal teams to enable successful process executionCollaborate closely with Sensor Development, Automated Equipment, Mechanical Engineering, and Data Engineering teamsVerification and Validation
Develop test protocols and qualification strategies (IQ/OQ/PQ)Ensure processes meet functional and regulatory requirementsSupport operator training, auditing, and vendor managementWhat We’re Looking For
Degree in Engineering (Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, or Biomedical)2–5 years of experience in process development or manufacturing engineering, preferably in a regulated industry (medical devices, aerospace, automotive, etc.)Proven ability to develop, characterise, and optimise manual or semi-automated manufacturing processesStrong background in experimental design, statistical analysis, and root cause problem solvingHands-on experience with setting process windows, recipes, and acceptance criteriaFamiliarity with process qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ) and test method validationComfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously and working cross-functionally with RandD, automation, data, and mechanical engineering teamsStrong communication skills to clearly convey technical issues, risks, and results to stakeholders at all levelsBonus Points For
Experience with data-driven process control, manufacturing dashboards, or metrics developmentExposure to high-volume or scale-up manufacturing environments, specifically medical devicesProficiency in statistical tools (e.g., JMP, Minitab, or similar)Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or equivalent process improvement trainingWhy SAVA?
This is a high-ownership, high-responsibility role in a company that’s building something complex, meaningful, and fast. The expectations are high, the learning curve is steep, and the work is often messy—but the impact is real. We don’t have room for egos or passengers. What we do have is a team of thoughtful, driven, and mission-aligned people who are committed to building something better—and doing it with urgency and integrity.
