The successful Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will join the Engineering Team and will play an integral part in the development of world leading capabilities and the cutting edge of Aerospace research.The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will report to the Design Team Leader and Engineering Managers . The successful Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will be skilled and must have a sound knowledge of part and assembly design, structural analysis and modern manufacturing techniques. The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will be self-starters, organised, able to prioritise and used to working under pressure. Responsibilities of the Senior Mechanical Design Engineer Carry out static stress calculations using hand methods and Finite Element Analysis (FEA).Produce detailed stress reports to present stress calculations and FEA results.Participate in reviewing the work of others, including checking of stress reports and approvals.Assist in the preparation of bids and work breakdowns for projects within department.Liaise with production engineers to assist specification of manufacturing processes.Assist Manufacturing/Inspection/Fitting departments to resolve design issues.Liaise with test and rigging teams to ensure ..... full job details .....
