Join the Residential Child Care Worker role at TieTalent. The role involves working closely with young people in residential care, providing strong, committed, and compassionate support to help them recover from early life experiences. You will be a role model, a listening ear, warm and approachable, and may help create special occasions and opportunities for the young people.Location and Type

Location: CarlisleContract Type: Full-time, permanentSpecific Hours: 42 hours per week - shift patternSalary

Unqualified: base salary £27,781.80 per annum with potential to earn up to £31,039.08 with sleep-in shiftsQualified: base salary £28,719.60 per annum with potential to earn up to £31,976.88 with sleep-in shifts(Qualified Care Worker salary is based on the proven existing completion of a Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare)Main Duties

In each home, follow detailed shift planners/diaries/handover documents outlining specific daily duties.Term-time duties include: supporting boys daily routines, personal hygiene, meals, school runs or activities, room cleaning, life skills/independence, socialisation, bed-time routines, attending medical/other appointments, supporting activity plans, completing day sheets and targets with boys, handover documents, daily paperwork, budgeting, daily room checks and housekeeping, meals and kitchen hygiene/laundry duties, and checks such as COSHH, Fire Checks/Car checks.Liaise with families, note special dates, and plan family time contacts.Act as a Keyworker to build strong bonds, show warmth, empathy and genuine care, and create special occasions for the boys.Qualifications and Requirements

Flexibility in availability; role involves sleep-in nights and shift work (14-hour shifts), typically 2 days on, 2 days off, with rotating start times 08:00, 12:00, 14:00Understanding of issues facing young people in careResidential Childcare/Families Practitioner Diploma/Children and Young People’s Workforce/NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent, or willingness to work towards qualificationExcellent communication and listening skillsWillingness to learn and to work well as part of a small teamWillingness to undertake an enhanced DBS check (paid by the employer) if offered the positionExperience with Emotional Behavioural Disorder, Social/Residential Work or Youth Work is advantageousFull, clean UK driving licence and ability to cover at other residential homes as neededBenefits
