Chegg is the leading student-first connected learning platform and a NYSE listed company.What does a Learning Designer - German do at Busuu?You’ll work on shaping an impactful language learning experience for over 120+ million learners in over 190 countries. You will be responsible for designing, maintaining and improving our German content, ensuring that learners can progress and apply their language skills in a real-world and professional context. In this role, you will combine pedagogical expertise, learner data, and competitive insights to create effective, engaging, and accessible content. You will also contribute to the evolution of Busuu’s AI driven features, ensuring that AI enhances the learning journey while crafting a cohesive meaningful experience for the learners.On a day-to-day basis, your responsibilities are likely to include:Create, maintain and update our German syllabi and lessons, applying best pedagogical and instructional design principles for digital language learningWorking with Busuu’s content management system to build and publish new content and maintain existing coursesChecking and critiquing other team members’ lesson plans as part of our internal quality assurance processAnalyse learner data and conduct research to identify content gaps and opportunities, challenges and usage patterns while keeping up to date with competitors and trendsContribute to the evolution of the product, ensuring our methodology adapts to new technology and features as they emergeCollaborate with Product and Engineering teams to contribute to the evolution of our courses and AI features and make sure they are aligned with our learners’ needsMasters-level qualification in languages, linguistics or educationProven experience teaching German as a foreign languageExperience creating lesson content and planning your own lessonsDeep understanding of German grammar and language systemsInterest in and / or experience with AI in educationData-driven mindset to make the best decisions for learners needsBoth native and non-native speakers of {language} are welcome to apply, but a C2 level mastery of the language is expected.Advanced proficiency in English (C1 or above)Bonus Skills And ExperienceExperience working in an Edtech companyExperience learning a foreign languageExperience in using a Content Management systemExperience in prompt writing for Large Language Models such as ChatGPT for educational purposesAt Busuu we want to ensure that you have access to some great benefits:Our centrally located offices are well-equipped with free breakfast, plenty of snacks, fresh fruitYou get 2 free lunches per week at our office that you can choose out of a wide selection of restaurants in the areaBusuu offers a great Private Health Insurance schemeWellness platform (Wellhub) with access to wide range of fitness and wellbeing resourcesThere is a personal training budget just for you, so you can learn more in your field to ensure our employees can continuously grow and progress in their careersWe like to support our teams with their work-life balance so we offer flexible working hours and a hybrid model of workingWe offer enhanced maternity and paternity leave (depending on location)Staying connected as a team is very important to us, so we have lots of social activities for you to join such a team lunches, Friday socials, quarterly team, and company eventsWhat happens next?We aim to have a simple and speedy hiring process and we want to make sure that we are right for you as much as the other way around.
