Social network you want to login/join with:Our Water contractor client is seeking a Managing Quantity Surveyor to help deliver a range of Thames Water AMP8 projects based out of Reading with hybrid working.Key skills required for this roleWater treatment, quantity surveying, leadership, NEC, Construction, Water, WastewaterImportantOur Water contractor client is seeking a Managing Quantity Surveyor to help deliver a range of Thames Water AMP8 projects based out of Reading with hybrid working.Our client is growing their team delivering AMP8 for Thames Water, to meet the greatly enlarged programme of works between 2025 and 2030. Projects are in the Cotswolds, Oxfordshire, and Thames Valley regions.This is a great opportunity to join a team delivering Treatment Works within this area. Projects include civil, mechanical, electrical, and IC scopes, ranging from £2.5m to £25m, building on existing AMP7 projects.ResponsibilitiesManage the commercial aspects of client contracts across various projects, including complex and high-value projects.Establish cash performance targets, prepare reliable cash forecasts, monitor results, and advise on techniques to optimize cash flow.Supervise subcontract tendering, including negotiations and documentation.Conduct risk management reviews, identify project risks, and propose solutions.Develop project opportunities and defend against risks using professional expertise.Assist with variations, extensions of time, and claims, including negotiations with clients.Manage supply chain disputes and oversee change management procedures.Review project progress and advise senior leadership.Contribute to reporting, meetings, and project documentation.Ensure SHEQ and commercial processes are followed across projects.Build relationships with supply chain organizations for future business opportunities.Conduct site visits 3-4 days a week in the specified regions.Skills/experience/qualificationsUnderstanding of costs, quantities, timescales, and contracts in relevant projects.Ability to analyze project data and advise on commercial aspects.Experience with project cost management systems and reporting.Knowledge of Design and Build processes and contractual standards.Ability to negotiate final accounts and resolve disputes.Effective communication and presentation skills.Experience leading a commercial team on multiple projects.Strong leadership and water/civils/infrastructure sector experience.Salary circa £85,000-£95,000, with benefits including holidays, medical insurance, pension, flexible benefits, and more.ManagementReports to: [Specify if known]Matchtech is a STEM Recruitment Specialist, with over 40 years’ experience
