Our client, a highly regarded main contractor, is delivering a landmark mixed-use development in Leeds and is seeking an experienced Freelance Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team on-site.

This is an excellent opportunity to work on a high-profile scheme comprising residential, retail, and commercial elements, supporting delivery through to final account.

The Role

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will take commercial responsibility for key work packages across the project.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing subcontract procurement from tender through to award
• Preparing and reviewing subcontract documentation
• Cost planning, forecasting, and financial reporting
• Managing valuations, variations, and change control
• Risk management and value engineering
• Ensuring strong commercial governance in line with contract requirements
• Liaising with site teams, consultants, and the client
• Supporting final accounts and project close-out

The Candidate

We are keen to speak with commercially driven professionals who have:

• Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor with a main contractor
• Strong background in mixed-use, residential, or large-scale commercial schemes
• Experience on projects andpound;20m+ preferred
• Sound knowledge of JCT contracts
• Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills
• The ability to work independently in a fast-paced site environment
• Degree qualification in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent)
