Responsibilities

Ensure that the scope of works is delivered safely, on time, to required quality standards, meeting acceptance criteria and achieving expected financial outcomes.

Set the overall standard on the project/contract, ensuring consistency across projects in line with standards, policies and procedures.

Build and develop the wider operational and project management team to deliver all project/contract requirements.

Line manage Project Managers accountable for delivery, chair regular project team meetings, and ensure actions are recorded and closed out.

Manage the “fit to start” process to mobilise in a controlled and timely manner; ensure effective handover from the work winning team to delivery.

Develop and maintain effective communication and collaborative relationships with the Client and other stakeholders.

Lead the development of a detailed cost forecast and ensure it is reviewed and updated regularly.

Lead the development of resource forecasts (staff, labour, plant, materials) aligned with the programme.

Support procurement of suppliers and sub-contractors.

Lead improvements to achieve or better financial objectives.

Lead development and implementation of tender strategy / win themes.

Qualifications and Experience

Experience delivering HV Transmission projects within 132kV to 400kV or major civil projects.

Experience in a Project Director or Senior Managerial role.

HNC / HND.

Strong commercial and contractual awareness.

Experience of working on complex multi-discipline enhancement projects, delivering within programme and cost controls.

Excellent stakeholder management skills; able to develop close working relationships with clients and subcontractors.
