Learning Support Assistant
Location: Nottingham City
Salary: £95 - £115 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long Term; Full-time / Part-time

GSL Education are currently seeking enthusiastic and reliable Learning Support Assistants to work in a variety of welcoming schools across Nottingham City starting in September 2025. As a Learning Support Assistant (LSA), you’ll work closely with pupils who require additional academic or emotional support, helping them access the curriculum and build confidence in their learning.

Responsibilities of a Learning Support Assistant:

• Provide 1:1 or small group support to students with a range of learning needs.
• Assist the class teacher in preparing and delivering tailored lessons.
• Promote an inclusive, positive, and supportive classroom environment.
• Help manage classroom behaviour and encourage student participation.
• Monitor and record pupils’ progress and report concerns where necessary.
• Support students with EHCPs and contribute to individual education plans.

Learning Support Assistant (LSA) Requirements:

• Experience working with children or young people in an educational setting.
• CACHE Level 2/3 or NVQ Level 2/3 in Teaching Assistance (desirable but not essential).
• A degree in Education, Psychology or a similar field is desirable but not essential.
• A nurturing, patient, and proactive approach to supporting learning.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build positive relationships with students.
• Understanding of safeguarding and child protection practices.

• Have an up-to-date CV (covering the last ten years, barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one)
