Quantity Surveyor
Location: Central London
Salary: -55,000 - -70,000

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Quantity Surveyor to join a reputable Tier 2 main contractor delivering a -40m cut and carve project in Central London. This is a fantastic chance to be part of a technically challenging scheme and gain exposure to complex refurbishment works within a high-performing team.

The Role
Reporting to a Senior Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Manager, you will support the commercial management of the project from procurement through to final account. The project involves significant structural alterations and refurbishment within an existing building, offering valuable experience in cut and carve construction.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in managing project costs and ensuring financial efficiency
• Support procurement of subcontractors, including tendering and negotiations
• Prepare valuations, variations, and cost reports
• Monitor subcontractor performance and manage payments
• Contribute to cost forecasting and budgeting
• Assist with contract administration (JCT forms)
• Work closely with the site and project teams to ensure commercial success

Requirements

• Experience as a Quantity Surveyor within a main contractor environment
• Exposure to refurbishment or cut and carve projects is advantageous
• Good understanding of JCT contracts
• Strong numerical and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Relevant degree or working towards professional qualification (e.g. RICS)
