Senior Quantity Surveyor
Location: Central London
Salary: -75,000 - -90,000 + Package

We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established Tier 2 main contractor delivering a high-profile -40m cut and carve project in Central London. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key commercial role on a technically challenging and prestigious scheme.

The Role
As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take full commercial responsibility for the project, working closely with the Project Manager and wider site team to ensure successful financial delivery. The scheme involves complex structural alterations, refurbishment, and integration within an existing building, requiring a strong understanding of cut and carve methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all commercial aspects of the project from pre-construction through to final account
• Manage procurement, subcontractor negotiation, and appointment
• Oversee cost planning, forecasting, and reporting
• Administer contracts (JCT forms) and manage variations
• Ensure effective risk and value management throughout the project lifecycle
• Mentor and support junior commercial staff where required
• Liaise with clients, consultants, and stakeholders to maintain strong working relationships

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within a main contractor environment
• Strong track record delivering refurbishment and cut & carve projects in London
• Excellent knowledge of JCT contracts
• Commercially astute with strong negotiation skills
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and work in a fast-paced environment
• Relevant degree or professional qualification (e.g. RICS) preferred
