About Us

ellenor

is recognised as the local expert in caring for people with palliative care needs at end-of-life for adults and children living in North Kent and Bexley, covering a population of around 250,000. Each year, it costs £7m to care for and support patients and their families with £4.9m of funds raised through the generosity of local supporters.

We are committed to delivering exceptional care to patients and families. Through careful financial stewardship and strategic planning, we remain in a stable financial position. However, like all hospices, we are facing rising costs in delivering our services, particularly in clinical care, staffing, and infrastructure. With only around 23% of our income coming from statutory sources, we rely heavily on the generosity of our community to fund our services.

We are seeking a visionary Chief Executive to lead

through this evolving landscape. The ideal candidate will bring strategic leadership, commercial insight, and a passion for hospice care. Reporting to the Chair and Board of Trustees, the Chief Executive will shape and deliver our strategy, ensuring

remains resilient, innovative, and impactful. This is an exceptional opportunity to lead a respected organisation with a strong community presence, making a tangible difference in the lives of patients and families across North West Kent and Bexley.

About You

Degree Level Qualification and/or equivalent experience within a Care, Business, Management or Clinical Discipline.Proven track record of effective leadership and management of an organisation or large department/division, in a relevant regulated health or charity environment.Leading change at a senior level through collaboration and positive working relationships.Experience of working collaboratively with a Board of Trustees and encouraging an inclusive, open and transparent culture and approach.Broad commercial and strong financial management skills to include budget planning and cost control at a strategic level.Understanding of income generation and commissioning, and encouragement of a fundraising ethos across an organisation.Strong ambassadorial and influencing skills with ability to build outstanding internal and external relationships.An empathy with the purpose and values of ellenor.A high level of self-awareness and emotional intelligence and to exercise good judgement.
