Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver differentiated lessons to meet the diverse needs of pupils with SEN

• Develop personalised learning strategies and EHCP-linked targets

• Foster a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment

• Work closely with support staff (TAs, SENCOs, therapists) to ensure consistent provision

• Track pupil progress, write reports, and participate in review meetings

• Apply positive behaviour strategies to support pupil engagement and wellbeing

Candidate Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS or equivalent overseas qualification)

• Proven experience teaching children with SEN, either in mainstream or specialist settings

• Strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and inclusive pedagogy

• Skilled in managing challenging behaviour and using de-escalation strategies

• A proactive, adaptable, and empathetic teaching approach

• Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willing to obtain one)

• Team Teach or other de-escalation training (desirable, but not essential)
