Special Needs Assistant

Assist students in accessing the curriculum, adapting materials as required under teacher guidance.
Provide one-to-one and group support as appropriate, both in the classroom and during activities.
Reinforce learning strategies and routines, helping students develop independence and self-regulation.
Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs), care plans and behavior support plans.
Work collaboratively with teachers and multidisciplinary teams (e.g., speech therapists, occupational therapists, psychologists).
Provide support with toileting, including use of changing facilities, hoists and incontinence care, while upholding the student''s dignity.
Assist with feeding, including use of feeding equipment where necessary (e.g. G-tubes or assistive feeding tools).
Support students with dressing/undressing, including coats, shoes, and adaptive clothing.
Help with mobility and transfers, including the use of wheelchairs, walkers or mobility aids.
