Spectrum Geosurvey are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to join our growing team based in our Lymington office.Position Overview

As a Senior Geophysicist, you will be predominantly responsible for leading a field team, acquiring geophysical data as well as assisting data processing and interpretation when in the office. It is a great opportunity to build on your skills and gain further exposure to a variety of interesting projects in the offshore renewable energy sector.Successful applicants shall have a strong background in geophysics and geology and should have a working knowledge of marine surveying. They will be a role model to more junior members of the team and will assist in their training. Supported by an experienced and committed team, successful candidates will be developing skill sets to carry out the following tasks within our growing company.Role Responsibilities

Undertake fieldwork for extended periods of time away from home on projects onshore and offshoreLead offshore surveys as a Party ChiefAbility to PM intermediate - complex projectsAssist in leading data acquisition, maintain accurate records and assist in maintaining quality and consistency of field data, data processing, deliverable creation, and data management.Assist Processing and reporting managers with reporting, charting and data managementAssist Project Managers in project technical mattersBe a role model for more junior members of staff and lead by a good exampleBe a technical authority on geophysical survey equipment and softwareContinual training/development of junior staff and maintaining and updating training/procedural materialImplementing best practices for handling, maintaining and storing survey equipment as per manufacturer\''s instructions or company guidanceLead vessel mobilisations and calibrationsLiaise with clients and organisations throughout the lifecycle of projectsLine management of more junior staffShow a high level of leadership amongst the teamSupporting and maintaining QHSE standards including BMS documentationUndertake data processing when requiredTake the lead of research into new technologies and arrange system/software trials to keep Spectrum on the cutting edgeForm part of the on call roster for weekend technical supportRequired education/experience and attributes

A high level of competence in data processing, data aquisition, systems integrationA high level of competence in all the currently used geophysical data acquisition and processing software suitesExperience of training and mentoringExperienced with AutoCAD and GIS package, using it for a variety of tasks - equipment flange design, line planning etc.Have at least 3 years working onboard vessels undertaking marine survey operationsHave lead a small team undertaking various marine survey tasksHave lead vessel mobilisations and calibrationsHigh level of attention to detailHigh level of computer literacyProject Management of projects with intermediate complexityStrong academic report writing skillsAble to work in the UKFull valid UK driving licenseCore attributes and conduct
