Highly Specialist Adult ADHD Lead and NMPThe closing date is 14 October 2025
This post holder will provide a highly specialist service within our Adult ADHD team. Working with neurodiverse individuals from across North West London, this post, located within the Adult ADHD team in Kingsbury, this role will offer flexible, evidence-based episodes of care, assessment and treatment. The role will involve clinical leadership, particularly of the ADHD assessment and treatment pathway and will include clinical delivery on an expert level.
They will provide clinical expertise in the field of Neurodiversity and be experienced in assessment, differential and comorbid diagnosis including experience in the administration of relevant standardised ADHD assessment.
The post holder will support the team by managing a delegated caseload of service users that have an established diagnosis and treatment plan for ADHD, predominantly by reviewing post diagnosis at titration and follow up appointments.
The post holder will provide review appointments, prescribe medication as necessary and undertake all associated physical and mental health monitoring.
The post holder will have completed a recognised qualification in non-medical prescribing. The post holder will work with the Operational Manager and Medical Lead to ensure operational services are effective and will provide frontline leadership to the staff within the ADHD service.
This Post is externally funded for 24 months.
Main duties of the job
To provide a highly specialised practitioner and non-medical prescribing service within the Adult Adult service and leadership of the ADHD team.
Provide comprehensive specialist neurodevelopmental assessments of adults with suspected ADHD.
To exercise autonomous professional responsibility for the assessment, treatment and discharge of individuals whose problems are managed by psychologically based standard care plans.
Provide specialist advice guidance and consultation to other professionals contributing directly to an individuals formulation, diagnosis and treatment plan.
To undertake risk assessment and risk management for individuals and to provide advice to other professions on risk assessment and risk management.
As a non-medical nurse prescriber, you will be qualified and have the experience of prescribing a range of medication that is appropriate for the designated patient group including ADHD stimulant, non stimulants as well as sleep aids.
Provide clinical, management, and performance management through appraisals and supervision, including monitoring and supporting the nursing team with re-validation.
To take part in the Trust Senior Nurse On call rota providing expert advice and support to the Trust as part of a rotational basis.
Develop the skills in ADHD team through teaching, training and to provide supervision.

Person SpecificationEducation/ Qualifications
Professional registration with the Nursing Midwifery Council (NMC) RMN
MSc or appropriate level of experience
Research training
Post registration training in a treatment modality to diploma/degree standard as a minimum such as CBT
Experience
Significant experience of working within a CAMHS team
Experience of ADHD assessments
Experience of running ADHD clinics
Experience of prescribing and monitoring of medication.
Experience of managing and supervising others in a clinical and performance management context including appraisals
Experience of developing operational protocols and managing duty cover systems
Experience of leading and developing multi-partnership collaboration arrangements at a senior level
Evidence of conducting audit/research
Experience in developing specialist services
Experience of working with complex and high-risk cases
Experience of developing bespoke training packages for non CAMHS professionals
Additional specialist post-qualification training such as ADOS, SAVRY
Experience in contributing to policy development
Experience of monitoring and managing budgets
Experience of business planning
Experience of working with the clinical system TPP SystmOne
