OverviewExciting Opportunity for a Specialist Head and Neck Oncology Dietitian!

We are pleased to offer a permanent Band 7 position in our highly specialist Head and Neck Oncology Dietetic Team at Guy’s Hospital. You will join a dynamic, well-established team of 6 specialist dietitians and an advanced dietetic assistant based in the Cancer Centre at Guy’s Hospital, and work alongside a further 3 specialist dietitians in the Community Head and Neck Team (CHANT).

This role is based at Guy’s Hospital, where you will work with patients throughout their cancer journey—from initial diagnosis and treatment (surgical and/or oncological) through to rehabilitation, survivorship, and palliative care. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team where dietetic input is valued and contributes to truly holistic patient care. The role also includes participation in 8am ward rounds and MDT meetings, on a shared rota with fellow dietitians.

Beyond your clinical expertise, you will play a key leadership role: supervising junior colleagues and contributing to service improvements which advance best practice in head and neck oncology nutrition.

The dietetic team is a valued part of the head and neck oncology MDT, actively involved in audit and service development to maintain a high-quality, patient-centred service. We are seeking a motivated dietitian with strong teamwork skills to join our supportive and forward-thinking team.

Responsibilities

Provide specialist dietetic assessment and management for patients with head and neck cancer across the treatment journey.

Participate in 8am ward rounds and multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings on a shared rota with other dietitians.

Lead and supervise junior colleagues; contribute to supervision, training, and audit activities.

Contribute to service improvements and development of best practice in head and neck oncology nutrition.

Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to deliver holistic, patient-centred care.

Qualifications

Substantial clinical experience in dietetics.

Previous work within a head and neck oncology setting is essential.
