SR2 is working with a long-standing delivery partner on the major public sector project, supporting modern DevOps enablement across platform and product teams. We’re looking for a skilled DevOps Engineer with strong Kubernetes experience to join a specialist platform engineering function. This team acts as an enabler — helping application teams adopt DevOps best practices via reusable tooling, scalable platforms, and robust CI/CD. This is a 12-month contract, Outside IR35, on a Defence programme. Active SC clearance is required for all applicants.Key Responsibilities

Develop, improve, and maintain platform engineering tools and services for application teamsBuild and support CI/CD pipelines, containerised environments, and deployment workflowsSupport product teams in taking ownership of their services across the entire SDLCContribute to standards, common tooling, and DevOps best practice across the programmeWork independently and engage with stakeholders on requirements, feasibility, and improvementsEssential Skills / Experience

Kubernetes (3+ years), Helm, and strong containerisation knowledgeCI/CD tooling and pipeline automationLinux, Bash, and Infrastructure-as-Code experienceComfortable working across small teams with autonomyExcellent written and verbal communication skillsDesirable Skills

OpenShift, Terraform, Ansible, or other HashiCorp toolsFamiliarity with observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk)Experience with containerised services such as Postgres, Redis, Kafka, or KeycloakPrevious experience with MOD delivery environments or YAML-based pipelinesThe Details
