is a key role within our Energy team focused on electrical substation design projects. The role involves leading and delivering FEED and detailed design for substations, refurbishment and new-build projects, and collaborating with other disciplines and clients in the UK TandD sector.

Responsibilities

Work as part of the HV team on electrical substation design projects, supporting and leading FEED design and detailed design for refurbishment/extensions and new-build schemes.

Collaborate with other disciplines and stakeholders to develop innovative and sustainable solutions for energy infrastructure, including HVDC, interconnectors, wind farms, substations, overhead lines, and related systems.

Support or lead design production and specifications for HV substation plant electrical power systems and associated components; contribute to Protection and Control (PandC) aspects where appropriate.

Coach and develop the wider energy team, promote ideas, share knowledge, and contribute to the UK energy transition.

Be proactive with a willingness to learn and adapt; ideally hold a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in electrical engineering or related technical field; Stantec welcomes candidates from diverse technical backgrounds with training as needed.

Qualifications

Degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field (or equivalent).

Experience as HV Substation / Primary Plant Design Engineer with design and specification production for HV Substation plant electrical power systems and components.

Understanding of Protection and Control (PandC) concepts is preferable.

Strong communication, teamwork, and coaching abilities; proactive approach to delivering quality solutions and client value.
