OverviewWe are looking for a Transport Manager (£42k p/a) and a Transport Office Clerk (£30k p/a) from October 01. The team of 2 would rotate between shifts of 6am – 3pm and 8am – 5pm. We believe it is vital that they are local candidates to remove risk and avoid disruption. The aim would be to hire on a temp basis for 13 weeks with Extraman and bring on board permanently if we are happy.

Responsibilities

Planning and Coordination: Develop efficient delivery routes and schedules to ensure timely deliveries. Coordinate with logistics teams to align international arrivals with local distribution needs.

Inventory Management: Oversee incoming goods at the local hub and ensure merchandise is properly organized for easy access and loading for the last-mile process.

Staff Management: Supervise and train delivery personnel, ensuring they are well-prepared for their roles. This includes managing drivers and any other personnel involved in the last-mile delivery process.

Fleet Management: Maintain the delivery fleet, ensuring vehicles are properly serviced, insured, and compliant with local regulations. Make decisions on vehicle procurement or leasing as needed.

Documentation and Booking Processes: Safely manage all in- and outbound documentation while supporting the customer in securing booking slots within the expected delivery window.

Customer Service: Act as a point of contact for customer inquiries regarding deliveries. Ensure that customer expectations are met or exceeded by addressing any issues that arise during the delivery process.

Performance Monitoring: Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to last-mile delivery, such as delivery times, costs, and customer satisfaction. Use data to identify areas for improvement.

Compliance and Safety: Ensure that all deliveries comply with local regulations and safety standards. Implement safety protocols to protect staff and products during the delivery process.

Technology Utilization: Leverage technology solutions such as GPS tracking, route optimization software, and delivery management systems to enhance efficiency and visibility in the last-mile delivery process.

Continuous Improvement: Stay informed about industry trends and best practices to continuously enhance the last-mile delivery strategy, aiming for efficiency and reduced costs while improving customer satisfaction.
