They ensure the execution of MRSL''s mission, vision, strategy, and financial goals. The Board delegates daily management responsibilities to the Managing Director, who has the authority to carry out these responsibilities according to the policies set by the Board.The Managing Director leads the implementation of the long-term strategy for MRSL, aiming to deliver consistent profitability, high efficiency, and cost discipline over the insurance cycle. They advise, govern, oversee policy and direction, and promote leadership within GSI4 / MRSG alongside other Board members.Responsibilities include:Overseeing and managing MRSL, ensuring systems, controls, and standards maximize efficiency and profitability.Monitoring performance through KPIs and overseeing key functions.Leading the MRSL management team and participating in Board and committee meetings.Reporting to the Head of GSI4/CEO of MRSG and maintaining relationships with external entities like Lloyd’s.Ensuring compliance with regulatory principles and maintaining business continuity plans.Building relationships with stakeholders, including non-executive directors, regulators, and external organizations.Driving good conduct and managing risks in line with the company’s risk appetite.Supporting strategic initiatives and industry developments.LeadershipImplementing and reinforcing the company’s cultural values.Developing succession plans and motivating staff to meet strategic goals.Promoting staff development and sharing best practices.Management and ControlsEnsuring compliance with Lloyd’s and PRA standards.Monitoring operations and using MI data for strategic decision-making.Maintaining business continuity and effective internal controls.Knowledge and SkillsExtensive Lloyd’s market knowledge and insurance experience.Strong leadership, management, and legal/compliance expertise.Financial analysis skills and experience in regulated environments.Personal AttributesAchievement-oriented, strategic thinker, customer-focused, and a developer of people.Integrity, proactivity, resilience, team-building, and technical expertise.We encourage candidates who are excited about this role, even if their experience does not align perfectly with every requirement, to apply.Diversity, Equity and InclusionWe foster an inclusive environment that values diversity in all forms and provides equitable opportunities for all employees.All candidates can request reasonable adjustments during the recruitment process by contacting Talent Acquisition.Our ESG strategy focuses on sustainable development, environmental responsibility, social impact, and governance, supporting community initiatives and volunteering opportunities.
