Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? Tradewind Recruitment are currently seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for primary-aged pupils across a range of schools in Sheffield.

About the Role:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant you will work closely with individual students with a range of additional needs including:

• Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)

• Challenging Behaviour

• Non-verbal communication difficulties

You will play a vital role in helping children access learning in a supportive and inclusive environment, working alongside class teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to tailor your support to meet each child''s needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 support tailored to the needs of each child

• Assist with classroom activities and differentiated learning tasks

• Use alternative communication methods (e.g., PECS, visual timetables)

• Foster positive relationships and encourage social and emotional development

• Manage and de-escalate challenging behaviours in a calm and professional manner

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Experience working with children with SEN, particularly Autism and behavioural needs

• Patience, empathy, and resilience

• A proactive and flexible approach

• Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, or equivalent) - desirable but not essential

• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
