An established food manufacturing business is seeking a proactive and experienced Hygiene Manager to lead and continuously improve site hygiene operations. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is passionate about maintaining high standards, driving improvement initiatives, and making a significant contribution to a fast-paced production environment.

The successful candidate will take ownership of the hygiene function, ensuring that cleaning and sanitation activities support food safety, quality, and regulatory compliance across the site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, and support the Hygiene Team, including scheduling, performance management, and training.
  • Develop, maintain, and monitor hygiene schedules and cleaning procedures through regular audits and inspections.
  • Coordinate and oversee deep-cleaning programmes, including full equipment strip-downs where required.
  • Support technical and quality functions in relation to pest control management and audit preparation.
  • Conduct routine inspections to verify hygiene, food safety, and workplace standards.
  • Monitor and achieve targets relating to microbiological performance, HACCP compliance, and equipment release procedures.
  • Liaise with external chemical and hygiene service providers to maintain effective sanitation systems.
  • Investigate microbiological concerns using root cause analysis and implement effective corrective and preventative actions.
  • Maintain hygiene records and documentation in line with recognised food safety standards and customer requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement within the Hygiene Quality Management System.
  • Ensure effective controls are in place to prevent contamination and product risk.
  • Maintain accurate records for hygiene activities, maintenance support tasks, and employee training.
  • Promote and ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, food hygiene, and quality standards.

Package

  • Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend work as required.
  • Contract: Permanent.
  • Salary: Competitive and dependent on experience.
