Sheridan Maine is delighted to be working with a well-established organisation in London, which is looking for a Temporary Accounts Payable Clerk to join its finance team on a temporary basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Accounts Payable professional who is available at short notice and can quickly settle into a busy finance environment.
As the Accounts Payable Clerk, you will support the day-to-day running of the purchase ledger function, ensuring invoices and payments are processed accurately and efficiently.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Processing a high volume of supplier invoices accurately and efficiently
- Matching invoices to purchase orders and resolving discrepancies
- Coding and posting invoices to the appropriate accounts
- Preparing supplier payment runs
- Reconciling supplier statements and investigating outstanding items
- Responding to supplier queries and resolving payment issues
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date supplier records
- Processing employee expenses where required
- Assisting with month-end activities and reconciliations
- Supporting the wider finance team with ad hoc tasks as required
You will ideally have:
- Previous Accounts Payable or purchase ledger experience
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Experience processing a high volume of invoices
- The ability to investigate and resolve discrepancies
- The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
- Experience using an accounting or ERP system would be advantageous
The role is temporary, making it particularly suited to an experienced Accounts Payable professional who is available immediately or at short notice.
