An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Design Engineer to join a dynamic product development team within a leading automotive organisation. This role focuses on design feasibility, CAD development, and collaboration across both technical and creative disciplines. This role is offered on a contract basis in Essex.

We are looking for individuals with a curious and innovative mindset, a strong sense of design understanding, and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams both inside and outside of the design department.

Key Responsibilities:
* Coordinate and support feasibility and design processes.
* Deliver design feasibility status updates, hardpoints planning, and executive summaries.
* Support technical benchmarking and identify best-practice technical solutions for project-specific needs.
* Own the CAD design and development of complex components, including both single parts and assemblies with interdependent functions.
* Collaborate with internal and external departments to align on technical requirements and resolve design challenges.
* Review incoming CAD data for compliance with technical standards.
* Ensure technical feasibility and correct dimensioning of CAD outputs (e.g., strength, rigidity, mass, centers of gravity, etc.).
* Contribute to the continuous improvement of CAD data delivery in terms of timing and quality.
* Develop and maintain project documentation, presentations, and CAD archives.
* Manage storage, release, and archiving of CAD data within Teamcenter, following global data governance standards.

Skills & Experience Required:
* Minimum 3 years'' experience in automotive exterior or interior design engineering.
* Strong proficiency in 3D CAD design, particularly in complex component and assembly design.
* Excellent communication and organisation skills.
* Proven ability to coordinate technical deliverables and collaborate across departments.
* Experience using Teamcenter or similar PLM systems for data release and archiving.

Education Required:
* Bachelor''s degree in Industrial Design, Transportation Design, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
