Support both Supplier Quality Assurance and Development activities.Conduct on-site “customer eyes” inspections at supplier premises during key hold points in production.Perform final release inspections of supplier goods prior to dispatch to ensure compliance with all technical and quality requirements.Verify compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.Maintain auditable records of inspections, releases, and non-conformances.Lead or assist with root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.Support the Quality team, when required, with activities such as supplier qualifications, audits, and performance monitoring to assist in developing key suppliers towards industrial standards of excellence.Collaborate with internal teams to support product testing, documentation, and continuous improvement.Provide informal guidance to new team members and explain complex information in straightforward situations.Communicate supplier quality status to stakeholders and contribute to functional strategy.Regular travel within the UK and occasionally Europe is required.Assist with quality inspection.Note: All candidates must be eligible to achieve the relevant security vetting level applicable to the role.Qualifications And Skills
Degree BSc/BEng/HND in Electrical/Electronics or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent Quality discipline or relevant experience.Qualified Lead Auditor for ISO9001 as a minimum, with 14001 and 45001 highly desirable.Previous experience in manufacturing or supplier quality roles.Strong understanding of quality tools and methods: APQP, PPAP, 8D, RCCA, DFMEA, PFMEA, SPC, etc.Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications.High attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.Confident communicator with excellent organisation and interpersonal skills.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Analytical mindset with proven problem-solving ability.Experience working with major OEMs (e.g., BAE, Rolls-Royce, MOD suppliers) is a plus.Familiarity with APQP / PPAP implementation and supplier development programs.Seniority level
