Overview

Commercial and Preconstruction recruitment specialist, supplying freelance and permanent staff to the Civil Engineering and Infrastructure sectors. Our client is one of the UK’s leading infrastructure contractors and is acting as Principal Contractor on a major West Midlands infrastructure upgrade. Reporting to the Commercial Manager, this role supports the commercial teams across your portfolio of projects from inception through final account and close out to deliver maximum commercial results. Works will include earthworks, streetworks, utility diversions and bridges under a hybrid NEC3 Cost Plus Contract with pain share and gain.Responsibilities

Lead on all contractual matters from inception to close out via an in depth understanding of the contract and its implications for profit delivery.Raise commercial awareness and embed commercial focus and best practice across each project team.Assist in the preparation of contract documents, including bills of quantities, specifications and drawings.Manage the Risk and Opportunities process to identify risks and opportunities during tender and construction phases and deliver contractual solutions that balance these factors.Set and manage budgets ensuring all costs are correctly allocated.Provide procurement support to ensure each project is delivered safely, on time, at the least cost and to optimal quality.Negotiate and agree contractual disputes and final accounts.Interface with all levels of the Alliance, demonstrating strong influencing and stakeholder management skills.Requirements

Degree in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management accredited by RICS or CIOB.Experience interfacing and working collaboratively with project, engineering, finance and procurement teams.Previous Tier 1 or Main Contractor experience delivering large civils or infrastructure projects.Experience managing and developing junior staff.Excellent NEC3 contract knowledge; experience working as part of Joint Ventures or Alliances is an advantage.Benefits
