Operating at group level across five B2C-focused businesses, this is a strategic leadership role with strong senior sponsorship, a direct line into the C-suite.The group is undergoing a data transformation journey, bringing previously siloed teams together under a centralised data model, with growing investment in AI and machine learning. Youll be a key influencer in setting the strategic direction for Data Science and AI across the group, supporting adoption, building capability, and enabling commercial impact.Day-to-day responsibilities include:Leading a small, growing data science team operating across multiple brandsActing as a strategic advisor to C-suite stakeholders, advocating for AI and data-driven decision makingWorking closely with innovation and product teams to identify and deliver impactful ML and AI use casesSupporting the rollout of an AI-powered platform that automates insights and trends from structured and unstructured dataOverseeing predictive machine learning initiatives and data science best practices across the groupSteering AI governance efforts in collaboration with a newly hired governance leadRepresenting the data science agenda at group level and aligning teams across different countries and operating modelsCandidate requirements:Proven experience leading data science teams at group or enterprise level within B2C businessesExperience operating at Head of / Group Head of Data Science levelStrong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at C-levelBackground as a hands-on data scientist, with deep understanding of model development, deployment, and MLOpsMSc in a quantitative field required; PhD welcome but not essentialFamiliarity with AI governance and ethical AI practicesCurious and up to date on GenAI technologies (either directly or via team exposure)Comfortable working with varied tech stacks across Databricks, AWS, AzureExperience in regulated industries, especially gambling, is a plusKey highlights:High-impact role with visibility across group leadership, including CEO, CTO, and company ownerStrategic ownership of AI roadmap and initiatives across multiple marketsResources and buy-in to build and scale data science capabilityCollaborative and flexible working culture with strong career development prospectsTo apply or find out more:Please submit your CV via the link or email to rosie@harnham.comSeniority level
