Project Quantity Surveyor- Preston Our client are a reputable tier one main contractor who are looking for a Project Quantity Surveyor to take responsibility for the commercial management and successful delivery of an allocated project. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially driven QS who enjoys working closely with clients, subcontractors and the wider project team, whilst having real ownership of their project.

- Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
- Previous site-based experience within the construction industry
- Strong commercial and financial understanding
- Good knowledge of construction and contractual requirements
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
- Pro-active approach with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Good IT, reporting and presentation skills
- Taking responsibility for the financial and commercial control of the project.
- Ensuring accurate forecasting, reporting and commercial administration.
- Leading subcontractor procurement and placing subcontract orders.
- Managing subcontractor payments, notices and payment schedules.
- Maintaining procurement schedules, collateral warranty trackers and other commercial documentation.
- Managing the main contract, amendments and associated contract documents.
- Agreeing valuations, variations and general contract administration with clients.
- Monitoring payments due and cash received to maximise project cash flow.
- Attending and chairing risk meetings, identifying potential issues and putting mitigation plans in place.
- Working closely with the project team to identify and resolve commercial issues at an early stage.
- Maintaining strong relationships with clients and the supply chain.
- Ensuring final accounts are resolved within the required timescales.
- Supporting other members of the commercial team and promoting a collaborative working environment.
- Ensuring company and regional commercial procedures are followed.
