We believe that learning a language opens doors to new cultures and countries, as well as teaching self-awareness and respect. The Modern Foreign Languages department teaches French. Facilities include well-equipped classrooms, and a dedicated space for one-to-one and small-group tuition. All students are taught French from year 7 to year 9, developing the basic skills of language learning. In year 9, pupils choose whether to continue with French through to GCSE. We have been successful in retaining high numbers of students in Year 10 and Year 11. Our results have been excellent, with many students exceeding their national targets.
