Quality Manager

Tier 1 Major Projects Engineering Contractor requires the services of an experienced Quality Manager to lead a flagship defence infrastructure project. This critical, high-hazard megaprojects would suit a contractor who thrives in highly regulated environments. You will be taking ownership of end-to-end quality assurance, stage-gate verifications, and compliance workflows on technically challenging, multi-million-pound assets designed to protect the UK''s strategic national infrastructure. Key Responsibilities Drive Quality Governance: Establish, refine, and enforce robust Project Quality Plans (PQPs) and Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) across a multi-disciplinary engineering and commissioning lifecycle. Subcontractor and Supply Chain Surveillance: Manage high-frequency quality audits and surveillance programmes across specialized tier-2 subcontractors and heavy fabrication partners. Regulatory Liaison: Ensure all engineering outputs strictly satisfy ISO 9001 and AQAP 2110 requirements, acting as a key interface for external nuclear safety inspectors. Stage-Gate Verification: Lead rigorous design-to-build verification gates for high-hazard structural, mechanical, and safety-critical components. Defect Mitigation: Spearhead comprehensive Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations to proactively eliminate fabrication defects and engineering rework.
