Infrastructure Operations Engineer - 24x7 Shift PatternOverviewWe are seeking enthusiastic and experienced Infrastructure Operations Engineers to join our Infrastructure Operations Centre in Manchester or London. You will be part of a collaborative team focused on delivering top-tier support, implementing cutting-edge technology, and ensuring seamless service operations. This role offers the chance to work on diverse projects, support multiple technologies, and directly contribute to our clients'' digital transformation journeys.
Responsibilities
Client and System Support: Provide high-quality support for networks, Cloud, and end-user computing (EUC) environments including device deployment and management, ensuring exceptional service and swift issue resolution
Network Management: Diagnose and resolve issues in both wired and wireless networks, with exposure to legacy systems and modern infrastructure
System Implementation: Deploy, optimise, and maintain infrastructure systems, including servers, network devices, storage solutions, and Cloud platforms
Security and Compliance: Design and implement robust security measures to protect data and systems while adhering to compliance standards
Troubleshooting and Problem Solving: Proactively identify and resolve technical issues across various platforms, including network infrastructure, firewalls, and virtualisation tools
Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with teams to streamline operations and suggest innovative solutions to enhance performance and service delivery
Project Collaboration: Support system migrations and contribute to project activities, ensuring successful outcomes for clients
Client Interaction: Communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders, providing regular updates and resolving queries professionally and promptly
About YouWe''re looking for individuals from a technical background who are proactive, solution-oriented, and passionate about infrastructure and networking technologies. You should be ready to take on challenges in a fast-paced environment and have the ability to collaborate with clients and teams effectively.
Skills and Experience
Ideally 2-3 years experience in a managed service environment, supporting a variety of clients across Cloud and traditional infrastructure, networking, security, and End User Computing
Understanding of networking principles (LAN, WAN, VPN) and protocols, including the ability to integrate these with end-user computing (EUC) environments. This includes supporting remote access solutions, optimizing connectivity, and managing seamless interactions with network resources, alongside specific experience with technologies such as Windows 10/11, Microsoft Defender, and Sentinel. (TCP, STP, ARP, Ethernet, OSPF)
Hands-on experience with both wired and wireless technologies, including configuring and troubleshooting enterprise-grade networks as well as end-user connectivity solutions
Proficiency in using Cloud monitoring tools and supporting Cloud-based solutions (AWS, Azure), with a focus on integrating these systems with EUC technologies like EntraID, Intune, SCCM, PatchMyPC, Windows Defender and Sentinel to ensure efficient infrastructure management
Exposure to server infrastructure (Windows/Linux) and virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V)
Familiarity with managing IT operations, including routers, switches, firewalls, and access points, as well as deploying and managing EUC tools like JAMF and Microsoft 365 to provide comprehensive end-user support
Solid knowledge of implementing and managing security best practices

Eligibility for SC Clearance
Willingness to work on a 24x7 shift rota, based in the Manchester office
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on delivering exceptional customer service
