Senior Electrical Engineer

assists the Electrical Engineering Manager and SME team, providing electrical engineering services and guidance on all electrical systems within Data Centres, ensuring compliance with specifications.Responsibilities and TasksOptimising electrical systems for efficiency, resiliency, and reliability.Reviewing and signing off critical switching and complex RAMS for electrical work.Completing HV/LV Switching, HV SAP duties, supporting AP appointments, and managing Authorised Persons.Validating electrical SOP/EOPs.Supporting incident reports with technical information.Assisting in drafting specifications for new builds and electrical projects.Reviewing contractor documentation and nominating sub-contractors.Organising electrical training for critical/shift engineers and supervisors.Leading electrical commissioning of upgrades and new builds, and signing off systems.Owning key electrical issues and ensuring ticketing system updates.Ensuring compliance with Electrical Health and Safety policies.Performing other duties relevant to the role.Professional Skills – Ideal qualificationsCity and Guilds Electrical Installation Parts 1 and 2 (or equivalent)Inspection and Testing City and Guilds 2391 (or equivalent)18th Edition BS7671 Wiring RegulationHigh Voltage Electrical Switching Operations TrainingFirst Aid TrainingHNC/HND Electrical Engineering (preferable)Work towards professional registration (C-eng, IEng, EngTech)Soft skillsCritical Environment/Data Centre experience (preferable)Previous experience as HV/LV AP/SAP completing complex switching programsGood knowledge of switchgear and equipmentProficient in IT tools like Excel, Word, PowerPointStrong communication skills for cross-departmental collaboration
