Inside, youll find cosy fireplaces, rustic beams, and a bright dining space that opens onto a sunlit terrace and garden, ideal for alfresco dining.Its known for quality food, a relaxed atmosphere, and welcoming service, perfect for casual lunches, special occasions, or a countryside pint.
They are on the hunt for a talented and enthusiastic Sous Chef to join their Kitchen Brigade.
Role Responsibilities:
Support the Head Chef in preparing and delivering high-quality, consistent dishes.Lead the kitchen team during service and in the Head Chefs absence.Supervise and train junior staff to maintain standards and efficiency.Oversee stock control, ordering, and minimise food waste.Maintain strict food hygiene, health and safety standards (HACCP/EHO).Assist with menu development and seasonal specials.Ensure smooth communication between kitchen and front-of-house.Help plan and execute food service for events and busy periods.Candidate Requirements:
Proven experience as a Sous Chef or strong Chef de Partie in a busy kitchen (gastropub or similar).Solid knowledge of modern British cuisine and seasonal cooking with fresh ingredients.Strong leadership skills with experience supervising and mentoring a kitchen team.Excellent understanding of food safety, hygiene, and HACCP procedures.Ability to stay calm under pressure and lead during busy services.Skilled in stock control, ordering, and waste management.A passion for fresh, quality ingredients and consistently high food standards.Good communication and teamwork abilities across kitchen and front-of-house.Level 2 or 3 Food Safety Certificate.Culinary qualifications (e.g. NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent) are preferred.Benefits:
