OverviewLocation: Southwest London. Home-based, however applicants must live in a TW postcode or within close proximity to the M25, as daily travel across southwest and west London is required.

The Package

Starting salary of £21,500 per year

31 days annual leave

37.5 hours per week (Between 8:00am – 6:00pm)

What will I be doing as an apprentice?We are pleased to offer an opportunity for an Asbestos Building Surveyor and Analyst Apprentice to join our team. In this role, you will support day-to-day asbestos surveying, sampling, and site inspections, providing technical assistance to ensure safety, compliance, and accurate reporting in line with regulatory standards.

This apprenticeship provides a strong foundation for a future career in asbestos management, building surveying, and analysis, offering opportunities to develop a broad range of practical and technical skills in a supportive environment with a strong focus on health and safety.

Summary of duties

Investigation of building fabric works as part of an asbestos survey team. This can range from domestic properties to grade II listed buildings to nuclear power plants.

Air monitoring, sampling and analysis

Ensuring all work complies with Health and Safety regulations

Delivering excellent customer service to clients at all levels

Travelling throughout your allocated region as part of your day-to-day role, with potential travel further afield

Collaborating closely with both the field and administrative team

Through practical on-the-job training, you will develop new skills and gain the competence and responsibility required for asbestos surveying and analysis. This apprenticeship serves as a stepping stone towards a rewarding career in asbestos management, with the added opportunity for the apprentice to work towards professional recognition such as becoming a registered Science Technician (RSci Tech).

This programme opens up a variety of career pathways across industries including construction, civil engineering, environmental consultancy, health and safety management, and hazardous materials surveying, ensuring your skills are in demand across multiple sectors.

This apprenticeship can also help pave the way for further professional development and accreditation in asbestos management. You may choose to pursue recognised qualifications such as the P405 Asbestos Surveying Certificate, P402 Asbestos Management Awareness, or the P403 Asbestos Project Management qualification to advance your career.

EligibilityWhile we never want to hinder your job application process with obstacles, there are some minimum requirements you’ll need to meet in order to do an apprenticeship, these are rules set by the UK Government.

As a training provider, we are committed to ensuring that our apprenticeship programs deliver significant new knowledge and skills. To be eligible, applicants must demonstrate that the program will provide learning and experiences beyond their current qualifications and professional expertise.

If you already hold a Level 3, degree or equivalent higher-level qualification in a closely related field, or possess substantial relevant experience, you may not be eligible for apprenticeship funding, as these programmes are designed for individuals who require upskilling or reskilling in their chosen career pathway.

You’ll need to be over 16, not in full time education, have lived in the UK for 3 years and have the right to work in the UK.
