IT Support Engineer

OverviewOn behalf of a leading National Cancer Charity, we are recruiting an
IT Support Engineer
to support the continued development, efficiency, and reliability of their IT and communications systems. This is a crucial position, ensuring staff across the UK have the technical support and infrastructure they need to deliver vital services.

Hammersmith (Onsite, with UK-wide travel)
Salary:
£37,000 - £41,500 per annum

The RoleAs the IT Engineer, you''ll work closely with the IT Manager to ensure IT systems run smoothly across the organisation. You''ll manage IT support requests, maintain technical infrastructure, liaise with suppliers, and play a key role in ensuring system security and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure IT systems, equipment, and services are available and fully functional for all authorised users
Work with external IT providers to maintain system security, software updates, data backups, and virus protection
Support internal phone systems and ensure effective telecoms solutions are in place
Maintain file structures and manage user access rights
Train and support staff in the effective use of IT systems
Coordinate with third-party suppliers and service providers to deliver effective IT services
What We''re Looking For
A relevant professional IT qualification or degree
Proven experience in IT infrastructure support, ideally within the public or third sector
Experience as a Microsoft 365 Admin
Strong technical knowledge of Windows and Mac environments, MS Office, and SQL-based databases
Experience managing external contractors and handling IT projects
Familiarity with VOIP systems, Unix, and networking is highly desirable
Excellent communication skills with a proactive, self-directed approach
