Joining the Technical Operations team, you will be at the sharp end of deploying and supporting Anduril’s cutting-edge unmanned aircraft systems (UAS). Collaborating closely with the Mission Operations team, you will play a pivotal role in the early stages of product life cycles, including live demonstrations, training, and customer deployments. As a Technical Operations Engineer, you will be responsible for mastering, maintaining, and operating a comprehensive suite of unmanned aircraft systems globally. A key part of your role will be leading cross-functional teams in challenging environments, often with limited support, to ensure mission success.
What You''ll Do
Lead as Launcher Specialist/Crew Chief, overseeing event planning and execution, assembling aircraft and sub-systems, and mastering Ground Control Station software and ALTIUS Launcher SystemsServe as Aircraft Operator/Instructor Operator, piloting aircraft through waypoint navigation and manual control, conducting mission planning, and supporting ground testing eventsCollaborate with internal teams to plan and lead successful test events, conducting pre-flight briefings and post-flight debriefingsDemonstrate flexibility and the willingness to pivot to other functions as required by shifting organisational priorities or urgent mission needs
Required Qualifications
Proficiency in mechanical and technical tasks with a strong grasp of tools and electronicsUnderstanding of basic computer networking conceptsDetail-oriented with excellent organisational and communication abilitiesAbility to independently master and support complex technical systems in challenging environmentsSubstantial hands-on technical experience in field operations, manufacturing, or testingProfessional background in UAV operations, maintenance, or as a Crew Chief, with a comprehensive understanding of flight operations, aircraft systems, and sensorsProven problem-solving skills at the intersection of hardware, software, and operations, with a focus on mission successExperience in collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams and external customersAbility to perform data-driven root cause analysis on complex systemsStrong computer proficiency and documentation skillsExperience in training others on product and/or deployment operationsWillingness to travel extensively, including up to two-month deploymentsEligibility to obtain relevant aviation certifications and full medical clearanceAbility to obtain and maintain UK security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering or a related disciplineTechnical or associate degree in aerospace/UAS or a related fieldPrior military or international contracting experienceFamiliarity with Linux/Unix OS and command-line tools
UK Salary Range
£84,000—£126,000 GBP
