Senior Project Manager
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the fit-out delivery of a major, technically complex healthcare project in London.
Reporting directly to the Project Director, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day delivery of the project, overseeing remaining procurement, design coordination, construction, commissioning and handover.
This position would suit an experienced Senior Project Manager with a strong main contractor background and a proven track record delivering large-scale healthcare, life sciences, pharmaceutical or technically challenging fit-out projects.
You will lead a multidisciplinary team of Project Managers, Construction Managers, Package Managers and support staff, while working closely with the client, consultants and specialist subcontractors.
Key responsibilities will include:
Taking overall responsibility for the successful delivery of the fit-out.
Leading the project team across programme, quality, safety and commercial objectives.
Managing and concluding outstanding procurement packages.
Overseeing subcontractor design and ensuring design information is delivered in line with programme.
Managing fit-out activities and coordinating specialist trade contractors.
Monitoring programme and implementing recovery strategies where required.
Working closely with the commercial team to manage costs, risk, forecasting and change.
Leading client, consultant and subcontractor meetings.
Maintaining the highest standards of health, safety and quality.
Overseeing commissioning, validation and handover through to practical completion.
Managing key project risks and ensuring critical programme activities remain on track.
The successful candidate will ideally have:
10+ years'' construction experience, including delivery of major fit-out projects.
A strong main contractor background.
Experience delivering healthcare, hospitals, life sciences, pharmaceutical or mission-critical projects.
Experience managing large multidisciplinary project teams and specialist subcontractors.
Strong knowledge of procurement, design management, programme and commercial delivery.
Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills.
Degree/NVQ qualification in Construction Management, Engineering, Project Management or a related discipline.
Experience delivering specialist healthcare environments such as clinical, oncology, laboratory or highly serviced facilities would be particularly advantageous.
Knowledge of NEC3 contracts, healthcare compliance and commissioning requirements would also be beneficial.
